DYSTOPIAS, A PERSONAL DIRECTING DEBUT AND LOCAL SHORTS

Today’s another day where the Caligari FilmBühne and Murnau-Filmtheater will get an exground filmfest-red make-over. Get ready for some highlights:

GRAIN [BUĞDAY] directed by Semih Kaplanoğlu and part of our FOCUS film section will be screened at 7:30pm at Caligari FilmBühne. The sci-fi-inspired movie shows a shocking dystopia where people live inbetween ruins or on isolated landscapes as refugees.

SEA SORROW is the debut film by Oscar winner Vaness Redgrave – the very personal portrait combines her own flight history during World War II with contemporary situations of refugees. The documentary will be played at 4pm at Murnau-Filmtehater.

For all our early birds out there we have a super extra for today: the WIESBADEN-SPECIAL – SHORT FILM COMPETITION starts at 12 noon at Caligari FilmBühne. The programme consists of twelve films made by Wiesbaden-born or based directors or were filmed in the beautiful city. It is also a cooperation with the culture department of Wiesbaden. The financial award of 500 € is sponsored by Wiesbadener Kurier – local media partner of exground filmfest.
