A public pool, a sociotope. A scene of daydreaming and gentle snoozing. It is a place where everything is fine, or at least it feels like it. The smells of summer are in the air: sun milk lawn and flower fries, beach ball melon and chlorine lemonade. In the tightest of spaces many half-naked people share an afternoon, some hours with each other while time flies by so quickly. That is where you find the poetic banality of everyday life. Jonah the dreamy little boy, Jana and Rike the dozing students, Sami and Linda the lovestruck teenagers, Walter the grumpy pensioner and Irene the aging actress – they share nothing with each other except this hot summer day at the pool. Some gossip about the teenagers on the lawn, others fight with greedy wasps or wallow in memories. If you are lucky you will find the love of your life there or at least an unexpected lovely chat with somebody you would not have met somewhere else.
