A journey downriver, into port, into factories, towns, and families, and out into the great unknown.
Bill Morrison, living in New York, is one of the leading exponents of contemporary experimental cinema. Since the early 90s, Morrison has been working mainly from archive material and found footage, reinterpreting old films in new narratives and reflections on the status of images. As film archaeologist, Morrison recovers the memory of old films, a mixture of fascination and melancholy by the magic of moving images. Key in this process is the role of music, specially composed for his projects by numerous different American composers.
