Oscar and his brother toil away as scrap collectors with their dad, who rewards them with harsh words. Stanley and Blessed came across the sea to Sicily seeking refuge. They have precarity in common, in a region decimated by structural change and capitalism. At the end of this intimate study, the fragile documentary attitude is set aside to unite Oscar and Stanley for one enigmatic moment of holy silence.

Michele Pennetta was born in Varese/Italy in 1984. He studied at the École cantonale d’art in Lausanne (ECAL) and obtained an MA in film direction in 2010. His graduation film I CANI ABBAIANO (2010) was selected by a number of international festivals, including Cinéma du Réel in Paris and the Torino Film Festival. His short THE BET (2013) was selected at Locarno Film Festival, as well as his debut feature FISHING BODIES. IL MIO CORPO (2020) premiered at Visions du Réel and was selecetd as part of Cannes’ ACID programme.
