Shot entirely from an apartment on the 36th floor of a high-rise building, this experimental animation survey large parts of Hong Kong’s cityscape, emphasizing the individual lives hidden inside its buildings.
Max Hattler is an abstract animator, audiovisual artist, animation researcher, curator and educator. After studying at Goldsmiths and the Royal College of Art, he completed a Doctorate in Fine Art at the University of East London. Hattler’s work has been shown at festivals and exhibitions worldwide, receiving awards and mentions from Annecy Animation Festival, Ars Electronica, Cannes Lions and many others. He is a Professor at the School of Creative Media, City University of Hong Kong.
