Storkow, in Brandenburg, out in the boonies. Sunny and his mom Nena are outlaws – cruising along, doing drugs in the car on the way to the beach. Stoplights are nothing but red lights on long poles for Sunny. Traffic cop Liv sees things differently though. Alas when she stops Sunny, sparks fly and hearts are set aflutter. Everything could be so sweet. Poor Sunny has to make up his mind whether to stay or go. Storkow or Berlin?
“Fittingly, STORKOW KALIFORNIA is shot as a delirious genre film, a jumbled fever dream oscillating between staying and going. With their song ‘Blue Splinter’, Berlin indie duo Me and My Drummer delivers the soundtrack.” (Vague Visages, Jutta Brendemuhl)
