exground filmfest’s competition programs have become an important forum for a whole generation of promising young filmmakers – due in no small part to our audience’s insatiable appetite for works outside of the cinematic mainstream. At exground filmfest 32, both cash and non-cash prizes with a combined value of approximately EUR 20,000 will be awarded.

WIESBADEN SPECIAL – SHORT FILM COMPETITION
A contest for short films realised by Wiesbaden-based production companies or local directors, with an audience award endowed with a total of EUR 2,500.

YOUTH DAYS – INTERNATIONAL YOUTH FILM COMPETITION
A youth jury will choose the best international feature film from the youth days program and honour the production with an award worth EUR 2,500. In 2013, an additional audience award was introduced – endowed with prize money of EUR 1,000. And in 2018, a jury award for the best international short film was introduced – endowed with prize money of EUR 500.

WIESBADEN YOUTH FILM COMPETITION
The youth days also feature the Wiesbaden Youth Film Competition: this short film contest for up-and-coming local directors between the ages of 12 and 18 is endowed with prize money totalling EUR 650.
