It’s a sunny spring day. We listen to heartfelt letters from a young lady writing to her parents in the fifties. Her phrases are interrupted by voices from the bankers using technical jargon, quotes from municipal officials. They are Kafkaesque in their obscurity, directly opposite the factual speech of architects and working secretaries remembering the invoices…Together they act similarly to a score and underline the pictures, which show strange things happening to this house of one’s own in Germany, a so-called “Eigenheim”.
Dagmar Schreiber studied at The Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin. In the course of her studies, she gained experience in the world of film in the scope of temporary work and internships. From script continuity duties and directorial assistance on fiction features to the distribution department at Twentieth Century Fox, she did it all. She also writes scholarly articles on film policy and has realised short and long segments for the cultural departments at ÖR and Deutsche Welle TV. In 2003, she founded the label 3-30 along with Reinhard Eisener.
