In the begining there was an object, a very special collective instrument with 42 drawers and boxes and other furniture pieces where sound came from.
Vítor Hugo was born in Espinho/Portugal in 1972. He is an Illustrator and 2D animator and director. VHe studied Graphics and Drawing in Oporto where he is living and working with Bando à Parte Studios. In these studios he has collaborated in films like ANY OTHER MAN by Luis Soares, CARROTROPE and FIM DE LINHA by Paulo d’Alva and SOOT by David Doutel and Vasco Sá. Sound and music and synchrony seem to have a key presence in his work.
In 2018, THE SOUNDS FROM THE DRAWERS won the Award for Best Experimental Short Film at the Monstra Film Festival in Lisboa/Portugal.
