Scopitones (1959–1978), the forerunner to music videos, were played on coin-fed jukebox-like devices featuring built-in monitors. One could find them in train stations, bars, and in other public places. They typically featured footage shot on one location. In our Scopitone Bar, you can experience original 16mm clips from the likes of Sylvie Vartan, Petula Clark, Dalida, Debbie Reynolds, Alice and Ellen Kessler, and many more. Curated and moderated by Bernd Brehmer.
