In the sensual imagery of KOKON, director and screenwriter Leonie Krippendorff tells an authentic Berlin coming-of-age story about budding emotions, sexual awakening and first true love. A film about wild girls emancipating themselves from the body images propagated through social networks.
Born in Berlin in 1985, Leonie Krippendorff studied directing from 2009 to 2016 at the Konrad Wolf Film University of Babelsberg. Her final student film LOOPING was nominated for a number of national and international film awards and received multiple prizes. In 2018, the script for her second fiction feature KOKON was selected for the “Berlinale Talents Script Station 2018”. In 2020, an expert jury from Variety named her one of “10 Europeans to watch”. She is currently working on the screenplays for two new feature-film projects.
