The best compliment you could pay our selection would be to come to our venues, ideally, or take advantage of the on-demand programming following the live festival.

“Cinema first” has to be our credo in 2022. From November 11 to 20, you have ample opportunity to visit our venues in Wiesbaden, Darmstadt and Frankfurt am Main, to talk with filmmakers and expand your horizons. Experiencing films collectively and sharing in person are absolutely irreplaceable! However, as a backup and for those who would still prefer to watch our films from the comfort of their couch, we’ll be serving a large portion of our program on-demand from November 21 to 24 – you can find out which part exactly from November 11 at www.exground.com.

The festival will take place on site in compliance with Hessen’s current public health regulations – you’ll find updates on our homepage. In addition, we have decided that face coverings will be required inside our venues – the best option we have to protect ourselves and others.

However, year three of the pandemic also means the loss of many fellow travellers and sponsors. That seemed inevitable, but it still hits us hard. So, our thanks go out to all those who continue to support us. Special thanks are in order for the State Capital Wiesbaden, the Hessen State Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and the Arts, HessenFilm und Medien GmbH and Kulturfonds Frankfurt RheinMain.
