The relationship between science fiction and utopian wishful thinking is questioned in the two video installations by Köken Ergun: I SOLDIER (2005, 7 min.) and Pinar Yoldas: THE KITTY AI: ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE FOR GOVERNANCE (2016, 12 min.). While Ergun shows the all-encompassing entanglement of nationalist politics in an almost voyeuristic cinematography, Pinar Yoldas’ Kitty AI reigns supreme as the ultimate governor taking care of its citizens at a personal level.
