How does it feel to play? What does it mean to listen? What does it mean to express one’s self through music for an entire lifetime? In search of answers, for 14 years the filmmakers followed Danish composer Jakob Bro, as he brought together jazz musicians of all generations and nationalities. We see them playing in diverse combinations, recording and talking about music. We hear Midori Takada, Lee Konitz, Bill Frisell, Joe Lovano and many more.

“We have brought together a collective of special personalities in the film. They are all brilliant and exceptional in their own musical fields with very personal recognition. Our collaboration has created a symbiosis in which you can see neither beginning nor end.” (the directors in an interview at the 2022 Venice Film Festival)
