13-year-old Ava is spending the holidays with her mother and little sister on the Atlantic coast. It will be the last summer in which she can see, as she is slowly losing her eyesight. Her mother tries to make it the best summer of her life, while Ava develops her very own strategies of coping with the illness. She steals the dog of a mysterious boy who lives in a bunker by the ocean…

At this year’s Cannes Film Festival, AVA was awarded the SACD Award for best feature film as well as the “Palm Dog” for best dog performance in a film.

Léa Mysius, born in Bordeaux/France in 1989, studied at the Sorbonne in Paris before joining the Femis School. Her first short CADAVRE EXQUIS (2013) earned her the SACD Award at the Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival. Her next two shorts, LES OISEAUX-TONNERRE (2014) and L’ILE JAUNE (2016), were screend at many festivals and won several prizes. AVA is her feature film debut.
