Itʼs 2093 and peace reigns again in the fictional land of Umata following a great war. Princess Mumbi interviews incognito at a crew casting session organised by Kuve, an ambitious young filmmaker preparing to shoot a documentary. The original concept is quickly adapted to fit Mumbi and the film-production AI that has become standard is thrown out the window. While working on the film, the two fall in love and run off, so that Mumbi can evade an arranged marriage to a prince.

Alas, in the end nothing in the future will ever be the same again. Neither big emotions nor filmmaking. Or will it? After shooting in Kenya, Damien Hauser spent an entire year creating an imaginative world for his film using various AI programs. And the result? Afro-futurism? Mockumentary? Blockbuster romance? Utopia? Whatever it is, one thing is certain: his film is an unpredictable declaration of love to cinema.

Damien Hauser is a Swiss-Kenyan filmmaker, writer, and director. Born in Zurich in 2001, he began producing short films at the age of seven. He studied film at SAE and worked for the commercial production company FILME VON DRAUSSEN. Throughout his career, he has produced a wide range of short films, music videos, plays, and commercials, always driven by his passion for fictional storytelling. In recent years, he has completed three feature films that have screened at major festivals including Tallinn Black Nights, Rotterdam International Film Festival, and BFI London Film Festival. In 2024, he founded his own production company, Hauserfilm.
