JURY AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL WIESBADEN FILM AWARD

Dr. Houman Amjadi

Dr. Houman Amjadi was born in the Iranian capital Tehran. He attended school there and then studied electrical engineering at the Technical University in Darmstadt. Following his studies, he worked as a development engineer and project manager in an international company. In addition to his family and his job, he is active in cultural associations. He is also a member of Amnesty International Germany.

Anja Baumgart-Pietsch

Anja Baumgart-Pietsch is from Wiesbaden. She studied sociology and trained as a publisher and has been working as a freelance journalist for Wiesbaden’s local media for over 30 years, particularly in the areas of culture and social affairs. Culture is also close to her heart in her free time: she is a regular cinema-goer and a member of the municipal cultural advisory board. She is also involved in the Wiesbaden-based organisation Angekommen e. V., which offers German lessons.

Miriam Carbe

Miriam Carbe has been working for ZDF/Arte since 2011 and has worked as an editor on numerous films on the topics of flight and expulsion, including the Caritas Journalist Award-winning report RE: NO RIGHT TO FAMILY about the difficulties of family reunification and the documentary THREE WOMEN FROM MARIUPOL. She studied in Frankfurt am Main, attended the German School of Journalism in Munich and worked as a freelance television journalist for many years.

Dr. Ute Hellwig

Dr. Ute Hellwig, physicist and project manager in the information security sector, has been involved in the Wiesbaden group of Amnesty International (AI) for more than 20 years. The film enthusiast oversees the co-operation between the AI group and the Murnau-Filmtheater; this involves bringing films to Wiesbaden that deal with the topic of human rights in the broadest sense. She is also a regular attendee of Wiesbaden’s film festivals.

Stella Tinbergen

Stella Tinbergen studied audio-visual media at the Institution of Higher Technical Education in Graz/Austria with media artist Richard Kriesche. She specialized in directing and film editing. After finishing her studies, she worked as a continuity supervisor, production manager and location manager in the feature film sector and as an editor for TV documentaries. Since 1991, she has been exclusively making her own documentaries for TV and cinema, with a focus on biographies of artists and of people on the margins of society. Among those are the award-winning films SIEGFRIED, MY SCHIZOPHRENIC BROTHER and THE CASE MISCHA E.
