A tender study of the grief of a teenage girl from a Tunisian Muslim family in Brussels: when Eya’s beloved brother Younès dies unexpectedly, the twelve-year-old’s world falls apart – she cannot believe that her brother will no longer pick her up from school on his moped and bring her croissants in the morning. Younès’ friends and family offer her some comfort, lovingly welcoming her into their circle of mourners. But gradually she realizes that she must find her own way to overcome the pain of losing her brother. Her creativity, her connection to her brother’s friends and above all her faith help her to do so. A moving and multi-layered portrait of a multicultural and supportive community.
