Agnes, a gifted junior professor, lives alone with her cat in a country house in New England, where a visit from her best friend Lydie from New York sometimes collides with her neighbour Gavin’s romantically-minded check-ins. In a series of chapters arranged non-linearly, a story gradually unfolds, revolving around a past traumatic experience with a professor. Based on a screenplay they wrote themself, non-binary US-American blogger Eva Victor, who achieved notoriety through their trenchantly funny viral videos, plays the main role in their own debut film in a wonderfully multi-layered performance, which showcases a strong sense of nuance, emotional depth and humour. A film about the utopian potential of friendship, about an emancipatory way of dealing with sexualised violence, about the serpentine paths of healing and the varied forms of standing up: for each other and for oneself.

Born in Paris, Eva Victor, is a Los Angeles-based author, director and actor whose fearless, character-driven comedy style has established her as an undisputed multi-talent. With her feature-film directorial debut SORRY, BABY she has positioned herself as an emerging voice in cinema. Prior to that, she gathered initial experience in comedy and gained widespread attention with viral videos. Among other outlets, she has written for “The New Yorker” and “Reductress”, where she also was active as an associate editor and staff writer, and produced videos for “Comedy Central”. Additionally, she has performed in several roles as an actress.
