SUÇUARANA follows Dora, a woman who has spent the last few years of her life on the road, searching for a lost land that she and her mother once dreamed of ‒ a mythical place where she hopes to finally find a sense of belonging.

Along the way, she encounters fellow travelers and is guided by a mysterious dog as she crosses a landscape in ruins, devastated by mining, where her destination always seems just out of reach. After an accident, she finds refuge in an abandoned factory, where she encounters a village of workers living in a close-knit community ‒ offering a glimpse of the home she has been searching for.

Clarissa Campolina works as a director, screenwriter, editor, producer and professor. Her short and feature films were screened at prestigious film festivals. In 2015, DAAD – Künstlerprogramm held a retrospective of her work at Arsenal in Berlin.

Sérgio Borges works as a director, screenwriter and producer. His films have been awarded at several festivals. THE SKY ABOVE was shown at Rotterdam International Film Festival – as well as STRIVE, STRIVE, STRIVE, the most-watched documentary in Brazilian cinemas in 2021.
