Between consumerism and quiet decay: A portrait of a place that is gambling away its future – and of people who are searching for meaning within it. A flood of tourists sweeps through Seaside Heights every summer.
Klara Schmickler studied design at the Münster School of Design and the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków/Poland. In 2019, she completed her bachelor’s degree with a nomination for best final project. She went on to complete a master’s degree in film at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts. Since 2026, she has been studying media arts at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne, with a focus on film directing.
