The short-film competition series at exground filmfest have evolved into a vital forum for promising young film talent – due in no small part to the substantial audience interest in works that go beyond commercial mainstream fare. There are four competitions for short films: the regional, German and international short film competitions and the exground GONG SHOW. In total at exground filmfest 38, including the short-film competitions in the youth days section, prize money and non-cash prize packages for short films worth nearly EUR 11,000 will be awarded.
