The competition series at exground filmfest have evolved into a vital forum for promising young film talent – due in no small part to the substantial audience interest in works that go beyond commercial mainstream fare. There are three competitions for short films: the regional, German and international short film competitions. The films of the “Made in Germany” series are competing for the title of “Best German Feature Film”. In addition, for the first time, the Amnesty International Wiesbaden Film Award will be presented to the best feature film from the thematic focus on “flight and expulsion”. In total at exground filmfest 37, including the feature-film competitions, prize money and non-cash prize packages worth approximately EUR 19,000 will be awarded.
