Rose and her older brother Sam share an incredibly strong relationship as siblings, until a heavy charge calls everything into question: Sam is accused of rape and their familiar bond threatens to break when Rose is slated to testify against her own brother in the scope of the investigation.
The film illuminates the young woman’s inner turmoil, as she must choose between loyalty and responsibility. It shines by using nuanced characters, subtle tension and a calm but intense atmosphere to tell a story in which every word and decision carries weight. Trust and truth are put to the test. A film without easy answers that resonates and touches the viewer.
“THE GOOD SISTER depicts a painful, harrowing development – cleverly observed and brilliantly acted.” (Andreas Köhnemann, www.kino-zeit.de)
