Melissa Dullius and Gustavo Jahn make up the artist duo DISTRUKTUR. Their work is situated at the intersections of art and cinema, experiment and narrative, photography and moving image. IMMATERIELLES was shot on 35mm slide film over two different periods of time. In 2008, the duo worked with long-exposure techniques that cause bodies and illuminated backgrounds to blend together – as if flesh had transformed into light. In 2015, they photographed friends in front of colourful curtains, this time exploring the idea of combining figure and background instead of blending elements.
