Narges Kalhor, born in Tehran/Iran in 1984, studied feature film directing at the Tehran Film School and gained early experience working with Abbas Kiarostami. Afterwards, she continued her studies at the University of Television and Film Munich. In 2019, her graduation film IN THE NAME OF SCHEHERAZADE won the Goethe-Institut Award at DOK Leipzig. Since then, she has received numerous honors. In 2024, her feature film SHAHID premiered at the Berlinale and got several awards, including the Hessian Film Award for Best Feature.
