Berlin-Gropiusstadt, a social housing complex on the edge of a metropolis. It’s the last day of the year where some dreams are born and others disappear. Tarik receives a letter about his imminent deportation, Stella about her invitation to an acting school abroad, and Luan wakes up from a bad dream in which he is left behind by the last two people he cares about. In the course of one feverish night, Luan tries everything to get his brother out of trouble without realizing how he’s drifting off the sidelines himself. A race against the clock begins to avert his brother’s fate.

Luan is put under pressure to do the right thing, without realizing that one person’s right quickly becomes another’s wrong. He has to make quick decisions which lead him off the sidelines himself. The more he tries to prevent his foreseeing from taking its course the more reality and fantasy seem to intertwine.

Ben Voit studied applied media sciences at TU Ilmenau, photo journalism at LTU Melbourne/Australia and directing at Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF. His first films, NACHT ÜBER KEPLER 452B and DIE ALLGEMEINE ORDNUNG, received over ten awards at prestigious festivals including Clermont-Ferrand, Busan, Tallinn, Gent and Berlin. His work was nominated for the German Film Critics’ Award and licensed by ARD, ZDF, MUBI, and TËNK. Since 2025, he holds a scholarship from the German National Academic Foundation and is pursuing a master’s degree in fiction directing at Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF.
