Toni (magnificently played by Luna Jordan) doesn’t speak about her past. She’d rather lift weights or distract herself by working in her parents’ garden centre. Her physical presence oscillates between seemingly steely toughness and fragile vulnerability: in truth, she is struggling with the aftermath of a sexual assault. When she meets adventurous Anna, something starts to develop between the two women, bringing levity into Toni’s life. And then there’s also a tiger that is rumoured to be on the loose in the area. In her impressive debut, Catharina Lott accompanies a woman on her difficult path to adulthood.

Catharina Lott, born in Offenburg/Germany in 1996, spent many years working on German and Austrian film sets after completing her A-levels, before beginning her studies at the University of Television and Film Munich in 2020. Her short films have been successfully screened at international festivals; amongst other accolades, she won an award at the Kitzbühel Film Festival in 2023 for FRANKY. RUN ME WILD, which also serves as her graduation film at the University of Television and Film Munich, is her first feature film.
