Cool and authentic: WYLD follows Ben, Momo and Zoe in their search for freedom, love and a place in the world – told in an innovative “social media diary” style, all with zero adult presence. Amid self-doubt, anxieties about the future and the pressure to function in society, three teenagers fight for their dreams: Ben stands between Momo and Zoe and grapples with his sexual identity; Zoe processes a #MeToo assault and finds strength in music. Momo wants to save the world, drops out of school – and has to make a new start.

WYLD is a raw, immediate coming-of-age portrait of the post-Covid generation that manages to give it a face. In doing so, the film consciously forgoes any and all adult perspectives, choosing instead to show life exclusively from the point-of-view of the young people in question: completely at one with themselves, on their way to finding their own place in society.

Ralph Etter, born in Solothurn/Switzerland in 1978, completed his studies in film directing at the Zurich University of the Arts in 2004 with the multi-award-winning short film WACKELKONTAKT. In 2005, he was awarded a scholarship from the Young Academy of the Arts and moved from Zurich to Berlin. In 2006, he went to Copenhagen on the Yvonne Lang-Chardonnens Scholarship to hone his screenwriting skills. In 2009, he took over as co-director on short notice for his first feature film, CARGO. In 2015, he began serving on the selection committee for Berlinale Generation and worked as a lecturer at the Zurich University of the Arts. In 2025, his latest feature film, WYLD, premiered.
