Baldur, a young fisherman, falls in love with a whaler named Helge on the Faroe Islands. His daily life is shaped by the struggle against nature, which has claimed the life of many a man, including his father. During a storm, he rescues Helge from the waves, and the worldly sailor comes to live with Baldur and his mother. Alas, when the two men are torn apart by a tragedy, Baldur’s longing unleashes a dark, mystical force from the distant past. This love story, staged in the style of Scandinavian Gothic tales and extending beyond death itself, makes for eerily beautiful cinema. Model Egor Venned shines in his debut role as Baldur.

Kasper Kalle, born in 1984, graduated from the National Film School of Denmark in 2015 with the short film SORTE MÅNE. In 2018, he completed his feature film debut with the historical drama CHRISTIAN IV about the last hours in the life of the Danish King Christian IV.
