Right at the start, the protagonist says, “I’ve been living one floor below since yesterday.” But no one around her reacts to this situation. In Jirkuff’s animation the parts of the house develop a life of their own.

Susi Jirkuff is a visual artist. Her main media are drawing, video/animation and installation. Her work has been shown internationally in exhibitions, for instance at Populism, CAC Vilnius, Stedelijk Amsterdam, Frankfurter Kunstverein and in Barcelona and Bilbao as well as at film festivals and TV stations such as European Media Art Festival, Osnabrück, Rotterdam Film Festival and SWR/Germany. She received various scholarships and awards.
