After the sudden death of wealthy Isabel, Jaime, her former lover turned butler, is left in charge of Prince, her beloved Afghan hound. But Isabel’s will holds a surprise: Prince has inherited her house in Punta del Este. Jaime must continue living there with the dog, while Isabel’s son and granddaughter can only claim the property after Prince’s death. They refuse to accept the arrangement, and the dog’s life is increasingly at risk.
As Jaime tries to protect his four-legged companion, he struggles with grief and the resentment of Diego, his estranged son, whose return forces him to confront a past he would rather forget. Blending dark humour with melancholy, Federico Borgia’s eccentric tragicomedy explores family greed, emotional dependence and the desperate search for affection against the glamorous yet fading backdrop of Uruguay’s seaside resort.
Federico Borgia was born in Montevideo/Uruguay in 1982. He is a filmmaker, screenwriter and teacher. Together with Guillermo Madeiro, he directed the award-winning films CLEVER and THE CHAMPION OF THE WORLD. CLEVER premiered at the Busan International Film Festival in 2015 and screened at more than 25 festivals. His first feature-length film, which he directed alone, PRINCE, had its world premiere at the London International Film Festival in 2026.
Filmography (selection): 2015 CLEVER, 2019 THE CHAMPION OF THE WORLD (documentary; both do-directed with Guillermo Madeiro), 2026 PRINCE
