Chile, 1992: the country is gradually opening up again following the end of Pinochet’s reign of terror. Nine-year-old Hannah (magnificently played by Maya O’Rourke in her first film role) lives with her grandparents, who run a mountain hotel in a skiing area in the Andes. The girl becomes friends with Hanna, who is staying at the hotel with a group of young skiers from Germany. When Hanna disappears without a trace the subsequent investigations in this mystery drama reveal long-kept secrets. Chile’s submission for the 2027 Oscars captivates the viewer with its brilliant imagery.

Manuela Martelli has participated in more than 15 films as an actress. In 2010, she received a Fulbright scholarship to pursue a masters in film at Temple University/USA. In 2014, APNEA, her first short film, premiered at the Festival del Cine in Valdivia/Chile. In addition, she was selected for the “Chile Factory program” of the Cannes Directors’ Fortnight to co-direct the short film TIDES with Amirah Tajdin, which premiered in 2015. In 2023, she opened the exground filmfest with her debut feature film 1976. As a director, she is representing Chile in the 2027 Oscar race; she also stars in the Croatian Oscar entry GOD WILL NOT HELP.
