Six-year-old Cléo loves her nanny Gloria, who has raised her since birth, more than anything. The girl lives with her father in Paris, but spends most of her time with Gloria. When Gloria suddenly has to urgently return home to the Cape Verde Islands to take care of her own children, Cléo asks Gloria to promise that they will meet again as soon as possible. And so, on her next vacation, little Cléo travels to Cape Verde to join Gloria and her family for one last summer together.

ÀMA GLORIA, as an autobiographical tale, lets us watch the world from the perspective of a big-hearted child and thereby reveals the contrast of the shown cultures. In France, parents have enough money but too little time for their children. In Cape Verde, parents have more time but too little money to offer their children a perspective.
